The meeting of two Ancient Arts…..by Mark Bell
As an Acupuncturist I work very closely with the mind body connection. Personally and professionally I was looking for another aspect to add to my own practice and work practice. Sound Therapy hit all the above, a perfect marriage.
In my every day practice I now have an extra incredibly powerful tool to help my clients with. One of
the most impressive aspects is that many of my clients have never even heard of Sound Therapy so
they come to it with an inquisitive mind. Once they experience it however, that’s a different story. They are hooked.
In theory this is how it works: The needles are inserted into the Acupuncture points specific to the clients
needs. By adding sound, the Frequency and waves travel through the needle, increasing the therapeutic affect of the needle. This increase in intensity is a pleasant one from which the client feels very little or no discomfort at all. I use it particularly if a client is highly anxious or stressed. The combination really brings the client to a blissful relaxed state, gently and powerfully.
Using tuning forks has opened another avenue for me. For clients who are very nervous of needles or where I feel the use of a needle might be too painful for a client, I can use a Weighted Tuning Fork 128Hz. This has really helped me in a lot of ways to provide a vastly improved quality of care to my clients.
I have used this method with clients who have MND, the elderly and in pregnancy. Once the client is clear of
contra indications, it opens up a lot of treatment opportunities where actual needles cannot be used.
I am looking forward to bringing this amazing combination to more clients, old and new. It may be a old
combination of arts but its one of the most powerful I believe there is.
The future awaits………………………
