AGM & Sound Seminars 2024

It is with great thanks we commend our extraordianry speakers and everyone who attended our AGM & Sound Circle Experiences yesterday, graciously hosted by Olive MacDonagh at the lovely Butterly Cottage Retreat in Co. Westmeath.

All of our Speakers are Professional Members of AOSTI, demonstrating their commitment to professional standards and ethics in the field of Sound Healing and Sound Therapy in Ireland.

Norah Coyne of Connemara Healing opened the Sound Seminars with her compassionate and professional approach to Sound Therapy for people young and old with Special Needs. Norah brought her considerable experience to the presentation which included the sharing of case studies (real names witheld to protect client confidentiality) and a demonstration of practical approaches to the work of introducing Sound Therapy to her clients in clinical settings. This was a fascinating insight into her vocation and a truly inspiring presentation especially for those with an interest in this field of work. The very real difference it makes to the clients is easily understood through Norah’s nurturing approach. https://connemarahealing.com/

Denise Hill of Joyful Healing then gave a presentation based on scientific trials and studies into Sound Therapy which are currently being undertaken in the UK. These trials aim to provide science-based evidence of the healing benefits of Sound Therapy, particularly in the area of pain relief and insomnia.

Results, which are still being collated, are very promising and already showing marked improvements in people experiencing muscle fatigue, stiffness, pain, mood disturbances, anxiety and insomnia over a six month period. This study is the first of its kind and in time will be shared with medical publications far and wide and taken to medical conferences internationally. AOSTI looks forward to sharing these result with the public and especially with our professional members. https://soundhealingtherapy.ie/

Olive Mac Donagh of Butterfly Cottage Retreat next gave a presentation on Conscious Communication. She effortlesssly absorbed us with her divine singing voice and shared how music and singing has played such an enormous role in her life’s work and mission. She incorporates this into her retreats at Butterfly Cottage where she runs workshops and hosts events around Kundalini Yoga and Sound as Therapy. She demonstrated through mantra, how connecting with our voice can enable us to transmute emotions such as grief or anxiety and bring us back into alignment with our true heart, thereby back to being able to communicate with ourselves and others in a kinder more loving way, a powerful tool for everyone of us today. https://butterflycottageretreat.ie/

Carmel Diviney of Celtic School of Sound Healing next gave a short demonstration on Crystals and shared part of her own journey with Sound, particularly in relation to Crystal Singing Bowls. This was followed by a magical Crsytalline Sound Bath. We each programmed a Rose Quartz obelisk with three healing intentions, one for the world, one for our family and friends, and one for ourselves. These rose quartz obelisks with their vibration of unconditional love were gifted to attendees to be planted in our gardens or a plant pot where it will connect with the natural world and emanate their high vibrational healing. This led us into the Crystalline Sound Bath incorporating Alchemy Bowls by Crystal Tones, Crystal Harp by Sacred Forest, plus spellbinding Crystal Pyramid and Chimes. Therapy of Sound with Liam Oragh then brought us out into the Stone Circle to ground the energies of the day with his powerful drumming. Working on the land and held by the wild elements of nature, Liam led us into a shamanic journey to connect with our Animal Guides. Following this we all took part in an intimate Fire Ceremony & Drum Circle, led by Liam, as intentions were released to the flames. What a perfect way to end a truly wonderful day. https://www.facebook.com/Liam.Oragh.Sound.Therapy

Photo taken after the Fire Ceremony. Unfortunately some people had already left by the time the photo was taken so apologies if we missed you. We are already looking forward to welcoming you back to our AGM & Sound Seminars next year when undoubtedly we will have yet another line up of interesting and educational talks and demonstrations to entertain you.
